3 phase driver as generator system

Hi,

From a 3 phase bridge driver circuit we can convert from electrical energy to mechanical energy. I know the 3 phase bridge driver circuit consists of Mosfets and when switched correctly will convert from electrical energy to mechanical energy. But i wanted to know how the same circuit can transfer from mechanical to electrical energy? How do i know which legs to be powered ON to convert efficiently. Will the sequence be same as motoring? Please advise. Please excuse me if i have not provided sufficient information.

But i wanted to know how the same circuit can transfer from mechanical to electrical energy?
