7 segment displays

I'm designing a scoreboard for a mates karate competitions, and i need some really quite big seven segment displays. Can anyone tell me where i can get these and how much they'll cost.. I looked on RS components, but there doesn't seem anything really big enough on there.. i need them to be.. about 100mm diagonal.. How much are these going to cost me?

At that size, you're probably better off making your own 7-seg from arrays of individual LEDs.  That will give you ultimate control over color, size, and intensity.

Yeah, I did a Google search for Silicon Chip Scoreboard and the 1st link was both complete parts of the project. Uploading it zipped must have taken an entire weekend on dial-up. ;D

If Steve hasn’t got a DSL connection he will have to start making the code for the Silicon Chip PIC to make that one work! ;D
