Please pardon a beginner's question. I am working on a vacuum tube amplifier and I would imagine that it would also apply to a semiconductor amplifier as well. What is the difference between a single node output stage compared to a two node output stage. I have a schematic for this amp and I need to determine which one it is. Thanks in advance for any guidance given!

I apologize crutschow but I don't have a schematic for this amp. I was just wanting to know the meaning of "single node output stage". In speaking with an engineer I was told that the amp had a "single node output section", I should have asked him for clarification. The amp in question is similar to a Vox AC4 guitar amplifier which was popular in the early 1960's.

Sorry, my friend you must be more concise.
This is the best I can do. I cannot answer your question. it will only cause you more confusion to give you multiple answers see Here.

My g.u.e.s.s is that he is referring to a class A, single tube versus a class AB, two-tube push-pull arrangement. A push-pull output stage can be much more efficient, and present a symmetrical and lower output impedance to the load.
