Activating a device that usually accepts a piezo transducer input with a switch?

Hello,

I have a drum module that activates drum sounds using piezo transducers as pickups. However, I instead want to activate the inputs with an on/off switch.

Could this be done as simply as having a switched circuit output a very small voltage simulating the output of the piezo?

Probably not.
A piezo electric transducer puts out an impulse of voltage proportional to the velocity of the physical impact.
I don't know what the piezo drives but it probably requires a voltage input.
You just have to try.
