Anyone using Orcad SDT, in what resolution?

OK, so this is a blast from the past, but, in my opinion this is still the
most usable schematic capture package around. I have not found a Windows
based programme that is as easy as the 1998 version I am using.

I am not a DOS fan and much would prefer a Windows based app but Orcad SDT
is so good that its worth running it in a dos window (full screen only).

The only issue that I would like to improve is be able to run it in a higher
resolution than 640x480

Does anyone know of suitable drivers are available, anywhere?

I have a driver called vesa8x6.drv with SDT III v3.22 that works fine at
800x600 under DOS.

The driver you mentioned appears in the configuration list but the driver
file itself is not on my disks.

Is there somewhere I can download it from?

In my last post I said that the driver you mentioned was in the
configuration list, I was wrong!

There are about 8 drivers listed that are 800x600 resolution but none of
them work in this PC or in on any PC I have ever tried them on, they all
appear to be for specific video cards.

Is the one you use suitable for 'generic' video hardware?

I don't know, but I have used it on several computers upgrades over the
years without problems. Note that this version is pre-386 (1989 I
believe) so it may not work with your new-fangled software.

I think I have the same version of SDT as you V3.22 which is pre 386.

I'm still using SDT386+ as I haven't found an editor that's better. A
bunch of us use the 800x600 vesa driver (VESA800.DRV). The big problem
is more and more video card manufacturers are dropping vesa102 mode
support either in the video board or in their drivers. Nvidia's
GeForce 2 and 3 boards work fine with older drivers. Some of the newer
Nvidia boards don't work with vesa102 mode. Don't know if this is a
driver or board issue.
