Oh sorry, I forgot to post the values.  Here they are
R1(variable resistor) - 100K
R2, R5 - 470 Ohm
R3, R4 - 4.7K Ohm
R6, R7 - 1.8K Ohm
T1, T2, T3, T4 - 2n222(or any other switching transistor)

You should not connect the base and emitter of two transistors together. One will have a slightly lower voltage and work, and the other won't work.

I have been using the schematic for awhile now and its working fine.  When both buttons are pushed, both guns on the game shoot at the same time and same speed.  If I was to take out the variable resistor, would I replace the link between the 5v and R3,R4 with a 100k resistor, just a wire, or anything else?  If I used just wire, would the LEDs flash faster or slower?  What could I use to make it shoot really fast?  Thanks

With R3 and R4 connected directly to +5V, the oscillator operates as fast as it can which is the same as when the pot is turned to its max speed. If you want the speed to be faster then reduce the value of the capacitors. Half their value will double the speed.

If you remove the LEDs and short the connections where they were then the circuit will work fine with the original 470 ohm values for R2 and R5.
