AWG?

I saw a schematic concerning HV generators. There was an old flyback transformer in the circuit and how to change it. The windings of the primary coil were 22AWG and 18AWG.

Germans handle square millimeters and dia millimeter but no AWG at all.

How can I convert AWG to metric?

If you go to this site:

you will find a chart that shows AWG, Diameter in inches, and diameter in mm as well as some ohter characteristics.
