Is there any bidding software out on the market. Before I write an excel
program, I want to check to see if there is something out there. I am
looking for something simple. Lists the devices, pipe, wire, etc. I fill
in the cost, rate per hour, etc and the program to calculate the price. thx

I have used Estimation and McCormick extensively. The only advantage they
have over you writing up something in Excel is the counting and distance
probes. Their databases can be updated monthly for a fee from Trade
Services. Which is nice then you have to decide if you want to put in your
discounts.
Their data base for labor is ok, out right flawed in some places. Pretty
important if you happen to use their data base for installing something.
Every system I have used is based on a per each or per foot times the
amount. What ever you buy print the database and get out a high liter. You
will not be sorry.

The upside for these is that you can get the payroll and cost accounting
package which will give you accurate information about the status of the
job. I was running about 100 men and the payroll package spit out the W-2's
in less than an hour.
