Hello all,
I'm new here, in fact this is my first post, but I've often ended up here to find answers and everyone here seems to knowledgeable and friendly.. Anyway here's my question.
I'm currently building a controlled vape mod using an Evolv Dna200 200watt chip powered by a 3s 30c lipo. I wanted to run an arduino program on a pro mini to do a random led pattern that would activate on button press. The dna200 had an onboard momentary switch for firing as well as two contact points on the pcb to run a different switch for alternate configuration. I wanted to use the offboard switch and use a momentary switch and connect two poles to the DNA and two poles act as the button to start the sketch on my arduino. Even though they will both be powered by the same battery, I was going to use a 5v BEC to drop the voltage from the battery to the pro mini.
This leads me to a second question, the leds in using are just some 5mm single color leds but I'd rather use these triple led boards with 3 smd leds, but they require higher voltage. I've read the mini van be powered by up to 13v on the raw pin. Could I use the higher voltage leds if I hooked up the pro mini without the bec and either connected them the standard way to each pin and shared ground or could I put the grounds on each pin and tap each wire into the wire coming into the arduino. I am a noob I know... Any suggestions?
I'd rather avoid buying anything else, but I do have a lot of stuff.
