Hello everyone,

I have an E-11 Blaster made by Hasbro, and it has a very simple circuit board inside. It produces 2 sounds that alternate: One is an actual blaster...the second is what sounds like a ricochet sound. I would just like the blaster sound.

Here are the pictures:

Also, this may be important....when I hold the trigger in the right position once a particular sound plays, the same sound keeps repeating until i release.

Thanks!!!

The circuit is much more complicated than it may seem. The little black blob of plastic on the PCB hides an integrated circuit containing 1000s of transistors.

You need to design a circuit which simulates closing the switch and releases it before it makes the ricochet sound, a  555 timer would probably do but a CMOS circuit (7555 or 74HCxx) would be better.

It's lucky that you only want the first sound, if you wanted the second you'd have to disconnect the speaker for the first sound and put up with the delay.

To start off, reverse engineer the circuit. Draw the IC as a box with the pins numbered anti-clockwise, starting from the power supply connection (either +V or 0V depending on which is most convenient for you).
