hello, I have no idea if I'm in the right place but I need help....

I have a DC motor, that powered a treadmill, I'm using it to power a device I had built. I needed to be able to plug it in, and I needed to be able to vary the speed so we kept it connected to the computer board from the treadmill.

The problem is, the computer board is designed to 1. not allow the motor to get to full speed and 2. shut off if there is a problem. Because of this, my device is not working properly and I will have to disconnect it from the treadmill computer board.

So....I still have this DC motor that I need to use, I would like to be able to 1. plug it into an outlet and 2. vary the speed of the motor.

My main question is, is there a device that will convert this DC motor so that I can plug it in?

Hi catsfly,

Welcome to our forum.

You probably have to custom build a controller circuit for your motor. We need to know the motor data, the voltage from your outlet and perhaps a few things more to be able to help out.

Check output voltage of your computer board
Then you can connect external DC power supply in series with in to increase sieed of motor
To connect it to AC simply use transformer with apropriate woltage and diode bridge
