Driving an amplifier with no load?

Is it okay to use a multi-channel amplifier with only some of the speakers
connected? I have a 5 channel NAD T750, and only want to use it for the
rear and centre speakers; I use my hifi amp for the front speakers. Will
this cause a problem with the NAD? Any help will be appreciated.

Generally you won't have any trouble at all doing that with a solid state
amp.

Nick Alexander:

Absolutely NO problem doing that with your NAD T750.

I'd have said "no problem" as well, but I'd have second thoughts about an NAD. I'd definitely
put RCA shorting plugs into the unused input jacks on that one.
