Ferric cloride is what i used in the first place then i accidentally spilled it on our floor now there is a hole there and i needed an alternative.

I've read somewhere in this forum that baking soda mixed with muriatic acid and some water is a good etching solution, I forgot the exact mixture though, but I'm sure you can search it.

Yeah, I've used muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide with very good results previously.  Check out:

for details.  You want to do this outside or in a well ventilated shed or garage.  Don't spill it as this is also nasty stuff that will eat a hole in your floor or in your skin...

That said, it's cheap and it works great.

the problem is if someone in my family hear the word acid or any other as they call "science wierdo word" then they will freak out so i need some thing that's ingredients's names have no word acid in them.

mate do a search for sodium persulphate its much safer than ferric chloride but there
is a downside to it thou, once it is mixed up it only lasts for a few weeks if that.
I prefer the ferric chloride as it lasts months
