How to pair a wireless controller to a receiver

Hi everyone! I have a PDP Afterglow wireless controller for Playstation 3 in my controller repair container. I looked it up to see how to connect it, and I learnt it needs a receiver, which is absent, so that is probably why it was in the container. I saw a listing on eBay from someone selling a controller like mine with a generic USB receiver, so I guess it is possible to do. But how? Thank you very much.

I guess it only works with an original dongle, it does not work with a mouse receiver, so what do I have to do?

Yes indeed, but I was using the method in the PDP page. so I wondered if a sync or a modification was needed, or just another method.
