Does anybody know about IC's. I've seen many electronics components, but haven't researched their designs. How complicated can they be?

The schematic can often be found on the datasheet but it's normally in a simplified form.

Amplifier designs are easier, but many IC's have designs so large that they are hard to understand. It's guess work to me.

Video processing circuits are a good example. Much more complicated than most integrated circuits. Your really talking about the mathematics of electronics.

Sorry, but I have to ask.... KevinIV, do you have any formal electronics schooling? Do you work in the industry or is your intrest as a hobby?

Google "SoC" (system on a chip) that is a good example as to "how complicated they can be".

I'm not up to date if that's what you mean. I really don't have good access to high end electronics.
