IR or RF remote bypass on curcuit board Possable?

Lost remote to home theatre system volume can be set externaly
but channel levels only on lost remote.
I would just like to bring up bass level a little and  live with it
just wondered how one may work around adjusting subwoofer  level on circuit board
could it be done by changing voltage at right IC pins if one was to figure out which ones?
have not found schematic as of yet but looking
