low rpm gearmotor and controller.

First post from a guy that is not even worthy to be here!
I am looking at a project that will require a 120 watt power supply...a low rpm gearmotor....0 to 30 rpm and a variable speed controller with digital readout.
Fleabay is full of these bits....all for very cheap...that raises my question on quality.
I would like this to run reliably for years...will I be well served by these 50 dollars worth of parts....or should I be looking elsewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
