Wanted: Need a n 8 feed coiled cable or similar..

I have horizon radio, that has a submersible handheld controller on a vintage wire coil cord that has become Ridgid and breaks when it is stretched. The connections, being water proof make it's replacement quite a chore. I want to waterproof tape the connections to the handset, and cable ends, and replace the eight pin cable with either a new coiled stretch or a spring loaded recoil. I don't know where to get the cable.

If you want to (or need to) maintain the waterproofing capabilities you are NOT going to do that with tape.

Normally not but with 3m amalgamating tape one would come pretty close.
Better to use a glue filled heatshrink.

Idea, twist a stainless wire to a loose coil, then shrink tube the wires to the stainless coil..???
