So, I have a situation where I need some creativity. I have a plastic shaft that is 1" long and has a diameter of 1/2". So, It is small.

I need to rotate it 1 time, 360 degrees at the push of a button. I need to turn a full revolution in about a second. This button will be on a chip. I have a few ideas, but they all have pros and cons, so I wanted to see if anyone here has some creative ideas, or know of some nice, very small switches.

-servo- Pro- specific. Con- bulky, expensive...and dont have enough hardware or ccp modules left for them

-small stepper motor. Pro- specific. Con- fairly expensive still, and 4-6 wires. Do I need a fancy stepper when I only need 1-2 steps? Probably not.

-Small DC motor. I have a very small motor and gears. It is 1" long and 1/2" diameter. It runs on 6v, has high torque, and will do 1 RPM. Con- I dont know of a small switch with a lever and mounting holes. This would be nice....

Any other ideas? Time alone is not accurate enough.

What do you consider expensive? Small steppers on ebay come for less then $20 dollars, out of an old scanner even less. You still haven't said how much torque you need. Probably the most expensive cost of a stepper will be the control circuitry.
