output of rain sensor

hello!i have interfaced the YL-83 rain sensor on avr, using its adc function but at the output since i am getting digital values (0-1023) at the output, i am not getting how to convert these values into rain rate(mm/hour)... as in there should be some formula.. can anyone help with it!

so, do you have a link to some info on the sensor or do we have to guess how it works ?

No Google just tells its pin configuration and its working..not the formula..we need to figure out that ourselves I guess..

You cannot get precipitation values from a resistive grid. You need a catchment vessel that has a 10:1 or 100:1 collection. When it reaches a certain volume, it automatically tips over and the "tips" are counted. Here is the principle:
