Panasonic AG-1980 Ejecting Tapes

Hi,

I recently received a Panasonic VCR that is immediately ejecting the tape after it’s been inserted. I’ve added a few videos via google drive so you can see what’s going on. Any help is appreciated!

Do you have any hands-on troubleshooting experience?
I'd open the cover and try to determine if the tape body is contacting the internal switch that tells the recorder that the tape has been detected as inserted.
