Rebuilding laptop battery

how are you. i hope you are fine.
the 14.8V and 4400mAH Battery of my lap top Compaq persion 2590us is heated up and there for it is not in functional any more

I strongly suggest you not to rebuild this battery pack, because it seems that protection circuits are damaged and for that reason overheating is experienced. Any li-ion battery without protection circuitry is a FIRE HAZARD. Don't procced to reconstruction of that battery!

They should be the same but the previous post is probably correct that the control board died.
