Replacement Transistor

Hey,

This is a very basic question. I have a dead power supply for an XBox 360. I've removed a bad PNP transistor but I can't quite find a replacement for it. (I tried another PNP that I happened to have, but only then learned that not all have the same pinout. Kind of a rookie.) :)

The bad transistor is:
B1116
YCK52

I've been all over the Internet with no luck finding either an exact replacement or equivelant. Any suggestions on what to replace it with and where to order it from?

Thanks!

Thanks Minder!

Nice to know I was on the right track when I started looking at data sheets!

Any specific ratings I need to match closely? For example:
http://www.weitron.com.tw/PDF/SS8550.pdf
This one has a higher Ic but the VCBO and VCEO are lower. Is that a big concern? What's most important rating to meet or exceed?

As long as it is within the present working range of the circuit, +v supply level etc.

Makes sense. Since I have no idea what that is, I'll keep researching and comparing.

Thanks!

You can get it here .
In order for it to be the same, you need to buy the K grade( from YCK)
The big question is why did it fail ...

Fantastic! Thanks! I don't know why, but I never think of EBay.

As for why it failed, I was wondering the same thing. Could have been a heat issue since there was a ball of fuzz inside and the thing has had many hours of use. I'm hoping that's all. If it turns out there is something else wrong with it, I'll move on to replacing the whole unit. Any further diagnosis is above my pay grade and not worth the time for me. Has been a fun project for me and my son though! :)
