Resistor help

Hi how do identify the resistor i need here.

been searching for r260 or r280 resistor with no luck lol

i have an identical amp, i think ill just open it up and get the same

You need to fix the problem that caused the resistor to burn. Or the replacement resistor will also burn.

incorrectly connecting speakers i think caused it, well the lady on the phone said that. It is identical to one in my other amp. Its the number r260 the correct way to identify it? I cant seem to find info to buy some

The resistor's value isn't r260. It is the 260th resistor on the schematic. Look at the other resistors, r258 isn't 258 ohms and r259 isn't 259 ohms.
Look at the color bands on the r260 resistor on the good amp and get a replacement resistor the same.

I knew the number wasn't a ohm valve lol. i saw some key with numbers and colours to come to 26ohm. I though it was apart number or value, thanks for the info and help

Gonna check the colours on other amp. Its a cambridge audio A500, i have contacted them just to see what they say anyway

You say that you have another amp the same.
It is easy to troubleshoot a stereo amp if only one channel has a problem, because the other channel is the same and it works. The defective amp can have its voltages measured and compared to the good amp. Parts can be seen with their color bands indicating resistances.

Is the resistor to the right ok? has burn mark from the other overheating

Is it 27 or 70 ohms

Yes, R260 is 270 ohms, 1% tolerance.

Is the Maplin one the correct physical size?
Replace the other one too if you are worried about it.

yep its the right physical size, just reading up on how exactly they work to see if i need to change the other
