Sharp mini stereo ba-300 in protect mode

Can anyone tell me what to do with my stereo, says protect and does not do anything else. Can this be easily fixed and how do I fix this problem?

possibly a speaker fault ?

have you googled for a service manual or at least schematics ?
have you googled for any info for that stereo re: the protection mode message ?
if so, what did you discover ?
