Any good suggestions where I can get hold of the Allegro ACS758 hall effect current sensor in low quantities with short lead times? I'm in Australia, but shipping costs aren't important.

I've already tried RS, Farnell and Digikey - all out of stock and long delays before new stock.

Try these guys:

Avnet Electronics Marketing (Australia) Pty. Ltd. (Distributor, Allegro Products)
9B, 9-11 South Street
Rydalmere NSW 2116
Sydney, Australia
Phone: +61 2 9585 5511
Fax: +61 2 9585 5519
Web: www.avnet.com
Email: [email protected]

They might be wholesalers only, but they might point you to some retail shop that takes their stock from them.

If this fails, post back and I will look up a big list of online suppliers that was posted on Elektor magazine recently.

Thanks, gave them a call. Nice girl on the phone, but not too good with Allegro stuff (their computer system couldn't find the ACS758 part at all).

They are investigating and will give me a call back soon (hopefully) with the details - will post back when I know more.

Hi stube,

I'd try to obtain a free sample at Allegro micro.

HtG

Edit: Try to get two of them and forward one to me. I need it for emergency automatic power cutoff for my garden gate.  ;D
