Hello everyone. First I just want to say that my english is not the best so I don't know the word for the "thing" I'm about to build. But it's that electronic part after the amplifier in the speaker box that split up bass mid and treble to the each speaker in the speaker box, so I just call it X in this message.

Okey, I'm about to build a 2.1 speaker system. I'm going to have one "Bass speaker box" and to "Mid and treble speaker box". And the problem is that the amplifier only has Left and Right output for the speakers. So I need to build a X that splits the Bass from both chanels to the "Bass speaker box" and then the mid and treble form each chanel to the two "Mid and treble box".

So can anyone help me with this?

Hi Suveran,
Welcome to our forum. ;D
Your English is fine.
You want to make a crossover network, also called x-over. It keeps the bass out of the mid/high speakers and keeps the mid/high sounds out of the bass speaker.

You have two channels but only a single bass speaker. You can't short together the two channels to feed a crossover for the bass speaker.
Usually an opamp active crossover circuit is used. A stereo highpass filter feeds both mid/high input channels of a stereo amplifier, then the source channels are added with two resistors and a lowpass filter feeds a mono bass amplifier. The bass amplifier usually has much more power than the mid/high stereo amplifier. Then the speakers have a good crossover circuit and the bass level can be adjusted separately for a good balance of sounds.

Hi Suveran,
Hela. Your English had severe breakdown for one post while you were yapping with Ante.
Two bass speakers in one box would make a huge box. You could use coils and capacitors to make a passive stereo crossover network for the speakers but the mid/high speakers will be too loud and will need attenuation to match the lower sound level of the bass speakers.

A nice feature of having separate amplifiers is that all the power of the bass speaker's amplifier will go to the bass speaker, instead of wasting some power in the resistance of coils. Then the bass speaker will have better damping of its resonance. You could drive the bass speaker hard so its amplifier clips a little, but you won't hear the clipping because the mid/high speakers won't be affected.
