Hello everyone, looking for some leads on this component, its from a recent device so should be a relatively new component on the scene?. Suspect its a Chinese semiconductor manufacturer SOT23-5 package it seems. S8VI

Pretty sure that's a 5VDC (or could be a 3.3VDC) voltage regulator. They have them on Arduino Pro Mini's, as seen here in the schematic, and the picture I just took with my USB microscope of the actual PCB.

Don't let the MIC5205 throw you off. That's what it's listed as on the schematic, but not on the actual IC.

I got here to Maker Pro, because I also was looking up what an S8VI chip is? Then found it elsewhere.

Many thanks Rob and a perfect example of forum help with diagrams and photos.

Turns out this is not a MOSFET, I initially thought the three in row pins were all linked and be the MOSFET source but the middle pin is GND which led me on to best guessing the component is actually a LM3670 Miniature Step-Down DC-DC Converter, confirmed by measuring a 6v input reduced to 5v. Thanks Cartwrig & hevans1944
