Tantalum capacitors

Hello I am new to the forum and have a question , im not a experience electronics technician, Im retired and work at home on my projects to pass the time. I work on my pinball machines which i have done a lot of soldering replacing components , which is not to hard on my old machines see whats burnt out and replace ,like swollen capacitor. And i hope its not a dumb question. But i need to replace a 475A/10v type b tantalum capacitor, which I can't find but I do see a 475C and need to know if its any difference or is there an alternative that I can use

Show a photo of what you have...clear and close up showing all markings is the best.

Note that it is uncommon for a tantalum to swell, they usually blow their top.

The main check would be 475 for 4.7uF and the voltage at 10v or higher.

I was saying other caps on older boards had swollen not the tanalum it had cracked open i can read the markings with a magnifier but its so tiny my iphone wont focus it what I could see was 475A 10v . like I said im dumb to this when it come to reading the value of the components but I can replace with the same knowing sometimes thats like putting a bandaid on the problem and not fixing it . but is off of a relay from a car that im restoring

Is it a bead type or SMD type?
A,B, C, D etc seem to be size related.
There are flame retardant ceramic equivalents but using the same type at a higher voltage may be better.
4.7uF 25V for example.

475 is 4.7uF and 10V rating. Unless it's part of a timing-critical circuit just replace it with standard electrolytic.

it is a SMD type , mine is 10v going to a 4.7uf/ 25v would be OK ?

Tantalum caps... That's the first component I recognize on this board. Man those are the best kind tool, tell you what, if it blew up, you might replace it with a 16v...4.7uf.. might be a good idea if it's happened alot before...
