Tektronix 2430A and traces shifting

Hello all.


Here a strange fault of this my Tek 2430.

Sometimes, and always I touch position knobs, the traces begin to shift on CRT. Where do I start my troubleshooting?

hmmm interesting fault. looks like the vertical hold has stopped working.
Not familiar with that particular model ... is it a CRT or a LCD display ?

anyway there's a tekscopes yahoo group that I have belonged to for several years
there is an awesome depth of knowledge there, I suggest you also join and ask the same questions.

I'd be looking in the CRT section.
Leaky cap or transistor.
Horizontal or Vertical deflection.
