Does anybody notice how often the biasing is less than optimum when trying to incorporate a few transistors in a circuit. I seem to be satisfied when the circuit works on paper, even though I am applying a signal directly to a PN junction. Any thoughts as to why many circuits can get away with this.

I am trying to bias a pushpull amplifier on paper. The two collectors are connected together and the emitters go to the power supply. The gain is subjective and I feel like it is best done with the circuit built. Does anybody know how accurate the PN junction is? You can't even get the current unless you know the voltage and re.

Is it common practice to use higher voltages with transistors if the current is low? I have read that the current should be half the rated current. I suppose if you want to use a higher voltage, then low current is alright, but not optimum.
