Hi all,
I've just built this kit
with which i'd like to control a 12v car fan (the type that plugs into the car's
cigarette lighter) ....
Could i use the same 12v dc supply which powers the circuit to power the fan, just
using the relay in series to switch the fan on & off ?
Or will that short out something ?
Thanks folks !

Yes  don't see why not, although it's difficult to really know without a schematic.

Hi Hero, thanks for replying ...

There's a schematic at the bottom of the link i posted,

what i'm hoping is i can connect GND to X3-2 (relay common)
and then put the fan between X3-3 (relay n/o) and the +12V

(or put the fan between GND & X3-2, and connect X3-3 to +12V )

Oh sorry, I missed the link.

Yes either of those options will work.
