Hi guys!

well im building an H-bridge circuit for driving my powerful 12V 5A motor. Im using the following block diagram for my circuit:

H-bridge_following.JPG

Okz now, Im using IRF9540 as P-channel and IRF540 as N-channel.

what i have seen that P channle gets on when we apply 0V to its gate and it gets off when we apply a 12V on its gate. On the contrary N channle gets on when 12V is applied on its gate and it gets Off when 0V is applied.

So, what i have done is connected LEft gates of both mosfets with each other and right gates of both mosfets with each other. Then from each side the connected is given to TC4420 which is a single MOSFET Driver IC.

okz there is a bit info i forgot to draw in my H-bridge diagram and that is. With every P-channel MOSFET there is a 10K resistor connected between its gate and Vcc. and with every N-channle MOsfet, there is a 10K resistor connected between its gate and Ground. Please explain me the logic behind connecting this resistor as well.

Those resistors make sure the MOSFET's turn off. MOSFET input impedance is very high and a  slight amount of leakage current could turn them on.
