Hi,

I have a function generator Agilent 33250A,

On it output port, it has a symbol like shown below.

What does it mean?
The function generator has an inner circuit like

The shield is connected to the ground through a resistor and a capacitor, but I really don't see there is any relation with 42Vpk.
Also in my Agilent 6614C

there is a symbol

Could anyone tell me what does it mean?

Thanks.

The symbol on the 33250A means the shield of the BNC is not connected to Earth ground, but will tolerate up to 42 V peak voltage between the shield and Earth ground.
The symbol on the 6614C means the power supply outputs are not connected to Earth ground, but can be "floated" ±240 VDC with respect to Earth ground without damage to the power supply. Handy for stacking multiple power supply outputs.
