What's does impedance means? Is it same as resistance?
hi JE,
welcome to the forums
no, not the same as resistance. Tho it is still measured in Ohms
when referring to plain resistance it is the context of a current flowing in a DC circuit
Impedance is the measure of the opposition to the flow current flowing in an AC circuit, including everything from low frequency 50 or 60Hz AC mains right up to the microwave radio frequencies
Imedance is a complex mix of 3 things in an AC circuit; the aggregation of its resistance, inductive reactance and capacitive reactance
cheers
