I´ve a YAMAHA AV-Receiver RX-A1020 (the same as RX-V1073) and it runs since 4 years w/o any problems. But now a days, if I switched on it take about 10 to 15 minutes if there is a sound, independend wich input I select. E.g. for TV I use the AV3 with optical input and there is shown "DECODER Off" and afterwards, when it sounds, the is "PCM" shown. I downloaded this Service Manual the sound is blocked by MT_F_MI (and others), it is +2,3V and goes to -12V if it sounds. The source for that is the signal MT_N_F_MI, it is generated by PORT 18/7 (of IC79, the microprocessor) and goes to R756. But I can´t believe, that the microprocessor is the "problem", but I don´t know, what the reason is, that this signal is generated. There is comments about the programming of this uProcessor. Does anybody have an idea or solved a similar problem/issue? Thanks!
