  1. Hello everyone, I am taking a digital fundementals class at my tech school and I took on a little side project to build a digital clock. I know this has been brought up before, but I need some help making the hours counter. I am only allowed to use 7400 series chips for the clock, specificlly the 7490 chips. So far I cascaded the divide by 10, and 6 chips to produce the seconds and minutes counters. I am stuck on the hours part. Does anyone have a schematic for the hours portion using 7400 series chips? I do have all the logic gates including AND, NAND, OR, NOR, Flip Flops....etc. feel free to email me. Thanks, Tony *I thought it would be best to also post my topic in this forum too*
  2. Thanks tnk2k, The article on how stuff works helped me out with the minutes and seconds, but I still can't figure out the hours, I know I need some and gates to limit the hours to 12, but I dont know how to work them into the cercuit to from 12 to 1 o'clock -Tony
