Hi, I want to design a Crystal Oscillator circuit for generating 640 khz that i can give as the i/p to the clock pin of adc0808. Is the crystal oscillator output ttl compatible. Plz let me know how to design the circuit.

do i need to give a clock signal to adc 0809 which i am connecting to the parallel port of computer. can i give directly the clock signal of 640 khz from function generator.

i want to know where the pins soc(start of conversion) eoc ( end of conversion) and oe (output enable) of adc chips like adc0808 / 0800 should be connected to which pins of the parallel port. The D0-D7 pins of adc chips will be connected to d0-d7 pins of parallel port. I will be using visual basic 6 to read the data lines.

Hi Friends, How can i interface standard adc chips like adc0800 or adc 0808 to the parallel port of the computer. My application has one analog input. Plz let me know which pins of the adc chips adc0800 or adc 0808 should be connceted to which pins of parallel port. Plzzzzzz help me.

Hi Friends, I came across this site : http://www.radiosky.com/dcla2d.html where they have used max187 chip for parallel port interfacing. But when i dwonloaded it's data sheet i found the values of capacitors are not matching. Anyways i want you all to check out the link http://www.radiosky.com/dcla2d.html and plzzzz let me know whether that circuit would work. If not what changes should be made. Plzzzzz friends help me.

Thanks for the reply. But for ADC Chips like adc0808 i will have to interface with microprocessors which i don't want. I am looking out for ADC circuit that can be directly interfaced to the parallel port. Plzzzz help me.

Plzzz i am looking out for the adc ckt that can be interfaced directly. ********** Suppose if i use avr controller for adc then can anyone give me the sample code that reads the analog input and then giving the output of avr controller to the parallel port of the computer. I am dummy as far as microcontrollers are concerned. Plzzzzzzzz help me.
