I hope this forum still alive :-[
Thank you in advance ;D
thanks
Where are you from? -
Nickolaw,
What are the symptoms of the fault? When you say it is not working, what is it doing? Have you checked the power supply? Has something burned on the board? If not, have you checked all settings in the software? Have you slowed down the steps to make sure the motor is not stalled? Have you checked the pulses coming from the board? If you use a slow stepper setting, you can use LEDs to check the stepping sequences. This is a useful tool as long as you step the motors slow enough to see the individual steps with the LEDs. Don't forget to add resistors so that you do not burn out the LEDs.

All is ok on board only one UCN5804 broke down and i replace that UCN whit another and everything i s ok bat what can burned UCN's i Use power pc suplly is this big supply?
should i use
1. small power supply (i mean in A and V)
2. or use fuse
3.how mach is max volts and amperes of power supply what I can use for this board -
The chip does not have a high watt rating. If you are using steppers that consume large amounts of energy, you could damage the chip.
What is the rating of your steppers? What is the rating of the power supply you used?

I have a problem
I build another Bord but one chip broke again i use http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~ih/doc/stepper/others/example2/
and PC power supply
What is the problem ??? ??? ??? :'( :'( :'( :'(
How much Volts and Amperes i mast to use ???????
PLEASE HELP ME

Did you over heat the UCN chip? You probably need to build one of the other designs if this is the case.
MP
how do u men i over heat the UCN chip? -
You would compensate for this in the software.

my step drive dont work any more :( :( :(
ucn is broken i bay new ucn' and thy broke too what is the problem :( :( :( -
Here is another...

How setting your kcam?
I made 2 boards with ucn5804b and connected it with KCam 4 CNC Controller but the step
motors are not working !
do you have working ? ??? ???
Please how adjust the parallel port?
what windows you use?
I have windows XP Professional and an other machine have win98SE, no working in the 2 machines
thanks
i use XP
and u mas to do this
go in port setup
an do like the pic
2, 3, 4 - x-, y-, and z-axis step inputs, respectively.
6, 7, 8 - x-, y-, and z-axis direction inputs, respectively. Direction polarity depends on the motor connections. (to switch direction polarity, simply reverse the motor connections
end-for-end)
13, 12, 11 - these PC connections are used to bring the controlled machinery (i.e. X-Y table) to a "home" position. Normally open (N.O.) switches are used here.
u mast select &H378 or like in your bios see what are you have in your bios port setup
and select bedirektion in your bios -
yes everthing works fine i made x , y mashine now i building z
i will send soon u video of this mashine -
can u send me some pic from your mashine???
this is the board , now i build mehanic :)
thanks -
TurboCNC. I've tried also Mach2 and CNCplayer. I now downloaded EMC2 and seems like the way to go.
and who program is best for you?
what caind of step motors do u use? -
I'm not familiar with KCam, but you might want to select "Pin setup", that's how it's done to all other programs I've seen.
Nikolas
what program do you use? -
-
You got it!
thanks man you are super!!!
;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) -

It doesn't. It has an on-board 5v power supply circuit with the 7805 regulator. It takes a 8-24v input.
You connect 12v to the board. It goes straight to the motors. It also goes through the 7805 to provide 5v for the chips.
Nikolas
hi
if i understand you i just need to connect 12V on place were i connect 5V???????

Is this using the schematic in our projects section or a different design? Please provide a link or post the schematic if it is not the one in our project section. We just need to know for sure which layout you are using.
A 5 wire stepper is usually the same as a 6 wire stepper with only one wire provided to supply the voltage to the center tap of both sets of windings instead of individual wires provided to the center tap of the windings as in a 6 wire stepper.

I use this projects
http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/pc/008/

how can i conect this steps whit the board
please help me?
can u give me mail or msn or skype
my mail is [email protected] -
hi
