Hi again ;) Yeah, thats what I was thinking about doing with the 'wireless' radio. Its much easier to call it that than to call it a 'short-wire radio headphone player' I was thinking, if I get a big enough headphone and a small enough FM stereo receiver, then I could probably conct some sort of arrangement so that the headphone wires are soldered to the receiver while the battery supply is put elsewhere. By 'expensive because they are hardly sold', do you mean its expensive because the demand for those kind of receivers is pretty low? If so, how much? I don't know what the prices go for because I didn't come up with anything with my research.

Yeah, transmitter, receiver, whichever it is :/ See, I'm not electronic illiterate. But I know you get the idea of what I'm talking about. After further research yesterday, it does seem that there are already a lot of wireless radio headphones out on the market. However, they don't have such good reviews :/ The wireless mp3 headphone market is also pretty thin. I remember the strength of the signal being pretty bad, though. Now, lets focus on a wireless radio headphone, not the mp3 one. I would only need a receiver right? What I want to do is use that receiver to transmit the signals to headphone so I can listen to it. I wouldn't need a transmitter to connect to the mp3 player. Thats if I want to make one, but that'll be another time. Could you give me a possible price range for something like this? Or supply me with the website of an electronic catalogue for these things?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I want to create a wireless headphone that can play FM radio, for personal and business reasons. Of course, I'd like to be able to create a wireless headphone for MP3 players, but I'm limited on funds and I can't take big risks. There are a couple of questions that will help me before I attempt anything. 1.) The wireless transmitter I want the radio to be ones that can capture powerful signals. You know, the kind of radio like in your car, where, no matter where you go, the signal continues to be strong (except under buildings or bridges). I want to have a broad frequency range, and not only pick up 3-4 stations. I was wondering... -Do manufacturers (more importantly, electronics stores) provide the circuitry for radio transmitters? -Is it very expensive? -How small is it? Is it possible that I can fit it into the side of earmuffs of a headphone? Also, another concern is the power supply. Can anyone gauge the amount of power a radio transmitter like the one I described would require (not including the power required by the headphones themselves)? Note: I'm not really electronic-knowledgeable, though I'm willing to learn. As much as possible use jargon that the normal joe would understand Thanks
