I'm an artist trying to create a sculpture covered with LED lights. I'd like to drive the LEDs as if they were a pixel array like a computer monitor--maybe VGA 640 x 480--but subsample so I only need a few thousand LEDs. Is there any straight forward way to drive the LEDs from a basic laptop?
