I would like to build a water leak detector which has two probes which would sit just off the floor and when any water leaked onto the floor it would provide electrical continuity to an electronic circuit which would provide enough current to drive a 24v relay. I'm going to install this below my air conditioner condensate pan so if the line plugs up and the pan overflows with water, it shuts off my A/C unit so my carpet does not get soaked. I am an electrician and can handle the higher voltage end but need help designing the electronic part of the system.
