  1. ok thanks...i have found the burr-brown 118 and the AD620. But how does the common mode voltage affect the sensor output?
  2. so for the instrumentation amp schematic, is this setup ok? as shown in the picture. and what do you recomend? And also the opamp part number for it. Thanks
  3. hi, i am gonna need help on a voltage amplifier on the output of a pressure sensor. The presure sensor i am using is a motorola MPX10D or a MPX5000 series, with a max of 6vdc input and a current input of 6mA. voltage offset is around 20 - 35mV. The output(pressure sensor) is to drive the voltage amplifier and into a schimdt trigger(comparator) where it will input into a PIC(microcontroller) to run the chip. i have read about a amplifier using an OpAmp. will that work?...if so what type of setup is best? thanks
  4. can you sponser the sonar system...hehhehe... ;D well i think it does not work as the pipe is not straight and somwtimes it is bent and so the sonar is "deflected" so it is not accurate. i figure that by using a timer i can calculate the time taken and speed, so i can measure the distance for it. thanks... however, my current idea is to use a electric pulse as described above. Any comments on it? thanks alot
  5. hi, well the pipe is like a rubber pipe ....and its about 1 to 11/2 inch diameter. so i am not sure it will work. i just thought of something else. what if i have a 12v battery source and so called send the charge through the water and receive on the other end, is this workable?
  6. well, what i want is to send a pulse through a 'U' Shaped pipe filled with water. And at the other end of the pipe, i would want to detect the pulse and calculate the time taken for the pulse to travel to the other end. So currently, my difficulty is finding out about the sensor that will detect the pulse. As for the pulse i am thinking of using compressed air as the pulse or is there a better way?? thanks
  7. so if i would like to use a timer to time when the pulse is sent and then stop the timer when the pulse is detected, what type of sensor is best? as a chnge in resistance is pretty hard to trigger a timer.....well i am not an expert so what is the best recommended sensor type? thanks
  8. hi, i wanted to transmit a pulse from and end of a tube contain with water and detect the pulse from the other end using a pressure sensor. The tube is "U" shaped and so i want to know how a pressure sensor work when it is active and what kind of output will it give?..... thanks
