  1. Hi Audioguru, Thanks for your reply. I don't quite understand your reply but I know why the phones rings. Regardless of the Voice/Fax/Modem computer card the ports/jacks at the back are like a phone jack splitter. So if a signal comes in one side, it automatically goes out the other. The voice modem (which it has to be to understand caller id) needs to ring twice in my area and then the software will identify the call. I have the modem to block the call immediately after 2 rings if need be. The problem is because my phones need to be plugged in from the other side of the modem (really it can be plugged in anywhere the rest of the lines are) I need to "mute" those first 2 rings. My only other idea would be to get a switching voice PBX computer card which is expensive and do not know if that will fix it even so I thought i would try to build a device instead. Thanks.
  2. Hi, I am trying to build a device to skip the first 2 incoming telephone rings by counting or just a delay timing. I would like it to open/release the 3rd ring so you can hear it. My scenario is I have the main telephone line into a voice modem computer and the outgoing phone-out port providing to all telephones in the house. This computer has software that will block incoming calls if there on the list. So when one of these calls does come in everything rings twice then the computer hangs up the line. It would be nice to stop/silent first 2 rings, this way when a unwanted/block call come in we would not hear it at all. If the call is legit then I would hear this on the 3rd ring and there on. Thanks for your time.
