  1. Newbie warning! I apologize if this question has been asked before. I have a 9V DC source and wish to power a 2V red LED at 20mA. Rather than using a standard (9-2)/0.02 = 350ohm resistor to limit current, is it acceptable to add two more 2V red LEDs in series (total of 3 LEDs) and use a (9-2-2-2)/0.02 = 150ohm resistor instead in order to achieve less heat dissipation from the resistor? Thanks for your assistance with this question.
