  1. Just realized that a 12V DC-36V DC converter with floating ground or 24V DC-48V DC converter with floating ground will also do the job, if I hook the input pin to one of the output pins, and I will get -24V w.r.t input GND at other pin. max current I need is 0.5 A. any idea where I can find these? I called digikey and TRC electronics, they didn't have such a converter.
  2. thanks - but I will then have -24V out w.r.t. the other output pin. So w.r.t input ground it will be (+12-24)V = -12V. I need it to be -24 V w.r.t input ground.
  3. is there a DC converter that can do this? We have a 12V battery on an excavator and need +24V DC outputs for our control computer, various servo-valve amplifiers and some of our pressure sensors (total current requirement is around 30A for short periods of time, but for the most part, total current requirement is below 10A). We are already using a 12V-24V DC converter, however it only has a +24V DC output. We also have a signal conditioning card that needs both +24V and -24V DC power input, each with respect to a common ground which would be the frame of the excavator) - this card processes outputs from an inductive position sensor, with a small current requirement (0.1 A at the very most). Is there a DC converter from 12V-24V, preferably 30A max output. Even a converter with max 0.2A, will do.
