nabut Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 How to made......? schematic, component etc..... TQ Quote
ante Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 nabut,This is not exactly what you asked for but its the closest I have for you.Ante ::) Quote
ZomBiE Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 this schem. works great, i got samples from maxim few years ago, and it's been working non-stop since :) might be noisy in audio apps. if output caps aren't low ESR. Quote
mihpa Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Hello ZomBiE What circuitry you used to produce the 40V dc for the input of MAX724.If there is 40V DC at input they need to be stabilized 40V?, Then with the 50K pot you can go from 2.5 to 35V / 5A?The coil must be rated to 5A ? Quote
ante Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 mihpa,I have built this circuit and it works fine.To feed this circuit you need a transformer (28V 8A) and a rectifier (20A).It is not necessary to stabilise this.Yes you can adjust the output voltage 2.5 Quote
mihpa Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Thanks for your quick answer, but why i need 8A transformer? doesn't a 5-6A one suits? Quote
ante Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 mihpa,I have used an 8A transformer so I can say for sure that it is enough, but maybe a 6.5A will work. If you have one lying around, try it and you can report back if it works. The reason I chose an 8A is that there are very high currents when switching and a 5A transformer will not give you 5A out from this circuit at least not in the higher voltage range. Ante ::) Quote
vainajala Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 I am now trying to figure out how to fit a current control on the circuit.Ante ::)Maybe with current sense resistor + op-amp + transistor driving the "FB" pin low, would that work? At least it might (and most propably will) interfere with output voltage setting resistors... Quote
ante Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Vainajala,You have been busy. Thanks! I have been sketching on something similar and I used the wire from the PCB Quote
hotwaterwizard Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Here is one from another post in the Circuit Request Section. Quote
ante Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 John,Is this the right thread for this circuit John?Ante ::) Quote

ante Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 vainajala,The LM 7824 can take 40V input so I think it will work or I can use the LM 317HV. Thanks for bringing my attention to the MAX 4080, I have not seen it before and it Quote
