1s timer with capacitors and resistors

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a bunch of TTL IC's (7400,7402,7404,7408,7414 and a few other basic ones) and some capacitors (.47uF, 10uF, 47uF and a 330uF). I also have quite a few resistors (a few 100-1000 range, and a bunch of 1k-100k). I'm trying to make a timer (I know, I should have a 555 but I don't) that pulses somewhere around 1 second (accuracy is not important, anything from 1/2 a sec to 2 sec is fine). Is this even possible? (also I'm working with 5.1v but I don't really think thats relevant). Thanks for any help
