Printing gerber files to the real thing

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just got a laser printer and tried the transfer method, what a blast. Now professional looking boards are within reach.

I used expressPCB and eagle BUT I don't seem to be able to get a good way to print it so I can transfer it? I can use the export to BMP mechanical and then add the traces and remove the components in photoshop but it's really long...

Thanks for any help!

Para

Hi Para!

Have never used expressPCB so I can't tell I'm more familiar with Eagle.
It sounds to me that you haven't unchecked some of the items in display/hide layers.
If you dont do that everything you see will be printed, guess your wish is to print only the layout right?
Let me know more specific what you want to accomplish.
Check this Eagle tutorial, I'm sure you will learn a lot from it.

Hi gogo!

Guess you mean how to make groundplane.
I was checking the link you got, left click on:
Grounding pattern making ( Polygon, Ratsnest, Ripup )
Everything is there, you can choose solid or hatch pouring pattern just follow
the instructions, if there is anything you don't understand just ask.

Hi Ante!

It took me a while to understand what they meant by pouring, it's a bit missleading don't you agree?  ;D

Hello
Thanks for the reply. I guess I will have to read it a little more, when I am awake.
I like to read myself to sleep  at night. That works at work too. ha ha but Ya I will go through it again and if I do have a problem I will let you know.
                                        Thank You
