Transistor Biasing Problem

how are you, Iam fine.
I am trying to solve a problem and after consuming time i come to know that i have not enough Knowledge to solve it.
The Plroblem is as unde
"A single measurement indicates the emitter voltage of the transistor in the circuit given below to be 1.0V. Under the assumption that |VBE| = 0.7V, what are VB,IB,IE,IC,VC,Two other things are Alpha and Beta which are also be calculated.
the circuit pic "circuit.jpg" is attached with the message."
This is all i know about the problem, not a word more and less.

Wa'Alaikum Alsalam,

Did you draw the schematic (circuit) yourself or did you get it from somewhere?

From what im seeing, the arrangement doesn't look 100% correct. I see that you're using a PNP transistor, which means you need negative supply (or 0 as you'll read at the end) at the base.

VB:Base voltage
IB:Base current
IE:Emitter current
IC:Collector current
VC: Collector voltage

Beta: Gain : Amplification = hFE

Alpha ??? sorry i dont know whats that either.

One more thing, you dont say -5V, in this circuit. Its either 0 or Ground(GND)

Correct me anyone if im wrong.

Hi Geo,
The alpha, beta and Vbe of a transistor change with temperature and are different between two transistors with the same part number. The only information about the transistor is its Vbe, so its alpha, beta, temperature and very accurate voltages and currents are impossible to calculate. Its voltages will be close to these and you can pick a beta number from 70 to 800 for this transistor and pick a temperature yourself to calculate more accurate voltages and currents. ;D
